Skiing and mestuff

liresiusI'm back and my muscles are sore! Skiing was great - except for the fact that my boots were too tight and I ended up feeling how those Chinese women of centuries past who had their feet bound, must have felt. Well, not quite. My own torture was self-imposed, and not a serious abuse of human rights. I will have to buy some new ones that fit.
we could get above it by taking the highest gondola. The views were beautiful, when it cleared in the afternoon. I didn't fall down! Not once! E said he was going to make me fall by the end of the day if I didn't do it myself, but I pleaded age and the fact that I couldn't afford any broken bones, that I had had enough already (5), so he took pity on me. I promised he could throw snowballs at me instead! But he forgot to at the end of the day! Ha!
We saw one of our previous students at the ski resort too, so E and I went off with him to the higher, more challenging runs while T and R did the 2 hour lesson for snowboarders. Such a coincidence - with Japan's millions, that we would run into someone we know. Our student gave us both tips too, but his English wasn't up to the task of detailed instructions in such a specific field. Oh, we fail, as teachers! LOL! Poor T couldn't get the hang of snowboarding so she gave up early. I didn't even try snowboarding this time. I have tried and failed before, so I knew I shouldn't put myself through the pain. *nods at self wisely*.
We had a lovely onsen (hot spring) after. There was a rotenburo (an outside pool) and it was just perfect, with the stars, freezing cold wind and the warmth of the water. Ooh! Bracing! Then dinner in the onsen dining room, where I had sansai soba (vegetables in buckwheat noodle soup).
It was so nice to go in T's auntie's car. Very roomy and comfy.
I think my camera battery is permanently on the way out. It wouldn't take photos, even though I had charged it. So I was disappointed for missing out on taking some snaps for the photo meme. I'll have to get a new one. I should go down to the e-store today and do that.
