A while ago I used the Where the Hell is Matt videos with my students (world geography English!) in class and ended up signing up to be notified if he ever came by Japan again. Well lo and behold I got an email this week saying he would be in Japan so I and 2 of the students who watched the vid ended up going down to Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto today to do some dorky dancing with Matt.

It was nice - I met another woman from Brisbane (hometown) and we friended on FB. After the dancing I and my students had a lovely walk through a massive temple - Tofukuji on a beautiful day and I took lots of pics! Then it was lunch and home - such a lovely day! So nice to do something silly and get outta town for a while!

This sounds great. I love his dancing videos. There's just something inspiring about seeing all those people from all over the world dancing. I'm glad you got to participate and had such a lovely day.

Wait I thought that Matt was dancing in Tokyo today? I actually have friends who went down to Tokyo to dance with him... Hmm, I guess it's possible for him to be in Kyoto and Tokyo - it's about 3 hours away by shinkansen.

I'm just amused because several of my friends went down to Tokyo to dance with him today and took pics. It's definitely the same guy... and I'd never heard of him till now!

Nice pics by the way. I love Kyoto - I'll be there (hopefully) at the end of March. Perhaps this time I'll see some cherry blossoms... the last time I was in Kyoto I missed them! You are so lucky to be in Kyoto - it's a lovely city with lovely people and the weather has been warming up a lot lately :)

LOL! Yeah Matt was in Tokyo on Sunday but he did Kobe on Friday and Kyoto on Saturday - a whirlwind shoot tour.

I love Kyoto. I should go there more often as I'm only half an hour away by shinkansen. I actually live in Nagoya.
