NCIS S07E02 Reunion Review

Ok, first and most importantly! Gibbs's headslaps are back! That's gotta be a good sign, right?! It was kind of a standard one - nothing particularly outstanding about it, but still ... PLUS, Tony gets an earlier backslap! Big YAYS!!

I enjoyed this ep - the banter was fairly good, and the Ziva element was nicely balanced in with a good ol' straight case. I liked that together Vance and Gibbs didn't make it easy for her and Gibbs made her address all her lack of loyalty/trust issues with the team. I was glad Ziva got roasted by Abby. She deserved it, it had to be said out loud, and it was satisfying seeing Abs deliver - even the interspersed 'on the other hand/in hindsight' stuff - didn't dilute it too much.

I liked the emotional key they struck overall. I wanted it to be hard for Ziva, but I also felt for her. Glad to see the whole team in, with Ducky and Jimmy as well.

How much do I love that Gibbs controls Tony's body functions so effortlessly (I own your body type possessiveness *gg*), piling on the pressure with the drinking lol, and clearly Tony is a very obedient slave, although I did cringe at his body language when he was released to go shake it!

Ooh that's a lovely screencap! And I agree - I enjoyed the ep. It felt like old!NCIS with a toppy Gibbs and a subby Tony and lots of fun and banter between them all. I was annoyed that Abby equivocated quite so much during her roasting of Ziva but glad she at least made some of the points she did as I thought they were gonna let her off the hook completely. I just hope the plotline is over with now as I've totally had enough of it.

Definitely Toppy!Gibbs and subby!Tony. I did think Tony veered a bit towards the ridiculous at times, but not severely so.

Yeah, Abby ... I did mull over the same thoughts. I ended up thinking it would have been too OOC for her to show no love and worry for Ziva though. I didn't really like it but accepted that was who Abby will always be.

Yep, with you on hoping that plotline is all over now - although I suspect there might be a few minor aftershocks. Nothing too damaging to the overall show, I hope.

I was cheering Abby on - someone needed to say those things (though she really didn't need to qualify them for me!)
Plus the whole 'shake it' scene was yet more proof that Gibbs is Tony's Dom. *ggg*

I was glad to get back to more of a 'dead marine' type ep (though there were some pretty impressive plot holes & leaps there at the end, I thought.) I still enjoyed the ep though.

Yes, me too! I think even with her equivocating it was the best damn roasting we could expect.

Oh, I'll have to look again or the plot holes. I kinda got confused there about who did what etc. and had a few questions ...

BTW, you prolly noticed sga santa is happening ... I wonder if they are going to jump start sga art santa again?

I just thought it was a bit of a stretch for that little auction woman to kill 3 big guys (even if they were drugged.) Then she killed the cop. It's a bit of a reach too to go from wanting to keep all the cash from selling the stolen plane to becoming a mass murderer!

Yeah, I did wonder if the sga_santa announcement might prompt the art_santa to get posting. Perhaps if nothing happens in a week or so we can give the mods a gentle prod? If they don't want to do it, then I'd happily step in as one mod.
I've signed up for sga_santa & would love to do the art santa too. (If it was run properly. *g*)

Oh! Yes, totally. More than a bit of a stretch! You're absolutely right. I hadn't formed that into words, but you put it very well. She was enirely mousy and a hard sell for 3 or 4 murders. Did grin at Tony's 'bad little puddy tat' line though. lol

Yay for you signing up for sga_santa! I hope they do get the art_santa up too, and if the current admins are not into it or busy otherwise, I hope someone takes it on. I would be happy to help, if needed, although being as I was the one to not get a pressie, I wouldn't want to be the direct gentle prodder *g*. People might take it amiss. I checked out the LJs just the other day and got the general impression Merlin was still the big current interest - not that that means one doesn't have other fandom show interests or energy.

I can totally understand you not wanting to be the one to bring it up after last year's problems. (I'm still so annoyed on your behalf!)
If there's been no post in a week or so, I'll give them a nudge.
I'd much prefer them to say that they're out of SGA now & let someone else take it over.
