Abby is entirely right about the possibility of choking ~ although not to death, in this particular story following ....
Ten years I ago I taught out of a book of True Stories. One of those stories involved an Australian woman. As a child, she ate some Christmas Plum Pudding and a sixpence lodged in her throat. She lost the ability to speak for over ten years and the doctors couldn't fathom why. After growing up, marrying and having kids (from memory), one day she choked on something she ate and violently coughed. She finally dislodged the undetected sixpence and could speak again. Can you imagine? ... ten years without speaking for such a simple reason ...
