Abby is entirely right about the possibility of choking ~ although not to death, in this particular story following ....

Ten years I ago I taught out of a book of True Stories. One of those stories involved an Australian woman. As a child, she ate some Christmas Plum Pudding and a sixpence lodged in her throat. She lost the ability to speak for over ten years and the doctors couldn't fathom why. After growing up, marrying and having kids (from memory), one day she choked on something she ate and violently coughed. She finally dislodged the undetected sixpence and could speak again. Can you imagine? ... ten years without speaking for such a simple reason ...

Why hello sweetie! I haven't talked to you for ages! And that's all my fault. I've been run off my feet with work. I have kept up with reading your entries though and now we have another show in common! Yay! I'm loving NCIS. When I happen to dl lots of shows and NCIS is among them, it's the first one I go to.

That scene brought back that memory of the TRUE STORIES IN THE NEWS story like a flash and I just had to tell it! *g*

Yes! That so rocked -- as did Abby's glee over the Shrink Santa!

I loved getting all their childhood memories of Christmas/Hannukah! It was fun seeing those bits and pieces fleshed out. Abby belatedly realising she should have pulled a print from the milk glass made me smile hugely too!

I rewatched to look for the Shrink Santa thing, but couldn't find it :( Not totally sure what I was looking for ...

D'Oh! Of course. I just had it in mind there must have been some American gimmicky Christmas gift in there somewhere (of which I knew nothing), and I just couldn't see it!

Thanks!

I'll admit it: I cried throughout the whole damn episode. not just sniffles but big fat blubbery tears.
