Seven Questions!

Not just any seven questions though, no, to keep it interesting, seven questions as per below - just copy and paste the following, replace the blanks with something you want to know/ask (e.g. 4. Donkeys or sandcastles and why?), anything you want, personal, silly, surreal or deep, comment away and I'll answer honestly as I can! Then post this in your own LJ and see what kind of things people want to ask you!

1. What do you think of rubber duckies? Heh! Never had one. I think of them like flying ducks on the wall - Kitsch but now almost retro cool. In all honesty? I live in the land of cute and it constantly gives me allergic reactions, considering the obsession with cute here.

2. When did you last dance? In January at the Hilton Hotel ~ New Year Party for the business community in Nagoya.

3. Kavanagh or Bates and why? Bates! He's truly more potentially villainous than Kavanagh and I'm still hanging out for this scene (http://seperis.livejournal.com/571561.html#cutid1/) in which possessive!John ruthlessly offs Bates with his bare hands, for daring to lay hands on *his* Rodney.

4. What did you think of S4 SGA? Not as good as S1 or S3, but I still love the mcsheppy scenes.

5. What's your favourite song? Gah! No, really you should ask me a hard one! *moans* There're so many to choose from but I'd have to go with something in classic rock - something with lots of lyrics to belt out ... Desolation Row. I choose it for the imagery rather than the music and I like harp.

6. How would you react to DH&JF+sons standing in front of your door asking for shelter? You know strange new country, all alone. No wives to show them what to do. I'd welcome them in, most definitely. Probably ask them if they've eaten and then, when it becomes necessary, explain to them how to use my antiquated toilet.

7. Who would you most like to tickle? Interesting - No one here in Japan. I'm not close enough to anyone except my son to do that with. So now you've made me think about how impoverished my life is! LOL!

1. What do you think of wombats? Love them. I actually started collecting them about 17 years ago but I gave up since I couldn't find many.

2. When did you last have a bath? At 11:32 am this morning. I don't have a shower, so I bathe every day, twice, often.

3. Sandals or thongs and why? Sandals. They're classier and don't rub the skin between my big toe and second toe. Also I have a right ankle injury and I like something a bit more substantial than thongs on my feet

4. What did you wear to bed last night? Long johns, long sleeved undershirt (both 100% cotton) and black cashmere sweater, that is so old and pilled I can't wear it anywhere outside.

5. What's your favourite shape? Dodecahedron

6. How would you cook a leg of lamb? Um ... in an oven .. with mint? LOL! I've never cooked a leg of lamb, but I know that's what the trad. recipe books say. *g*

7. Who would you most like to poke with sharp needles? My son, for calling me every single night while he was split up with his girlfiend (and my, wasn't I a paragon of sympathetic patience and good advice?), but now that he's back with her ... do I get even an occasional call? Nooooo .....

3. I wear thongs, but not those rubber ones. Nice leather thongs that are really comfortable. That said, they do rub a bit, but I just wear them until I develop a callus and then they don't hurt anymore.

1. What do you think of the Japanese government? Ineffectual. They aren't the ones with the real power here. It's all in the ministries here - the top civil servants wield the real power.

2. When did you last speak in a foreign language? If you count Japanese - this morning at the real estate agent.

3. G or NC-17 and why? Doesn't matter if it's well written, but given the choice, gimme the NC-17! Pr0n, violence - passion, commitment and heightened feeling grab hold of me more. I have real life for all the mannered stuff - fandom is where I come to escape and find a happy place.

4. What did you eat for lunch? A slice of thin crust pizza and a French pastry type apple pie thing-y shaped like a croissant.

5. What's your favourite book? Yikes! Oh man, I hate these favourite questions! Heart of Darkness.

6. How would you react if you won a role on SGA? I'd turn it down, if it was only a fan's guest appearance. Fans - actors ... it's an essentially unequal status relationship and I avoid those as much as I can in life, and because in this case, actors have enough on their hands with fans. I'm self-effacing that way and prefer to admire from afar. Now ask me if I'd like to run into JF or DH in a bar one night and you'll get an entirely different reaction *g*.

7. Who would you most like to shag? I'm celibate! No one! No, no .. oh um, yeah there's this guy but er, he's married or about to be .. I forget his name ... gee ... David someone ...? Yeah, that's him! *g* (but only if he was intending to stay single).

1. What do you think of Harry Potter? It all passed me by mostly. Read the first book and saw the movies, but it was all kid's stuff to me. Clever ideas, especially with language and the invention of new words calling on a long tradition of English magic traditions, but I wasn't impressed with the literary quality overall.

2. When did you last fly in an airplane? September 2006 ~ Australia to Japan.

3. Flight or invisibility (you've been granted a superpower) and why? With my commute? It's a no-brainer! Flying! But in actuality I think invisibility would be more useful.

4. What did you do for your most recent vacation? I went to Ishikawa prefecture last summer - did the tourist thing. They have lots of black-tiled roofs up that way. I also went to the famous ninja shrine and the Kanazawa Museum of 21st Century of Modern Art

5. What's your favourite movie? Colour: Bladerunner; B&W: Rashomon/Twelve Angry Men

6. How would you introduce yourself to your favorite TV character? I would say to Rodney McKay: "I know nothing!"

7. Who would you most like to bring with you for a dangerous walk down a dark alley? Who? Not who .. what! A P90 or maybe the Terminator.

Love your icon!

I've actually never read a single Harry Potter book or seen any of the movies. Hard to believe, I know.

Twelve Angry Men. Good Choice!

I'm so glad you like my icon. (Really, I just cropped a photo, but for me that's still an accomplishment!)

Oh wow! Never even seen any of the movies! I wonder there is anyone in the English speaking movie who hasn't *g*. So I'm glad to know there are some of you around!

Rashomon is the Japanese film that Twelve Angry Men is based on. Also brilliant, if you get a chance to watch it.

Well, well done you! on the icon cropping! Is that from Casablanca or another Bogey film?

I will try to find the Japanese version. Sounds interesting.

It's from The Big Sleep (at least I think it is). I've been reading American detective novels of the '30s and '40s. Bogey starred in the film adaptation. (I've never actually seen the movie though.)

Actually it's my *facepalm*

This one is from The Maltese Falcon, another movie I have never seen. (No wonder you didn't recognize it!)

LOL! I have seen that one - but way back in the mists of my mythic youth! I must try and get hold of it.
