The Book Meme
Snaffled from
iadorespike with whom I seem to share some defining characteristics *g* but did it have to be the one - Ulysses by James Joyce - I've been feeling guilty about, for ten years, for not reading! Guess that's a sign to get off my behind and read the damn door stopper!! LOL.
Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.
Weirdly, I tried it a second time (just for curiosity on what other books there were) only to discover you get a different set of 6 questions. So is it freaky and does it disturb you my dear flist that second time round I was Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf? It disturbs me, as apparently no doctor can help me now, LOL! I had read, well, most of that one, but I found it all a bit tedious. I'll have to fish it out and give it another go.

You're Ulysses!
by James Joyce
You're Mrs. Dalloway!
by Virginia Woolf
Your life seems utterly bland and normal to the casual observer, but inside you are churning with a million tensions and worries. The company you surround yourself with may be shallow, but their effects upon your reality are tremendously deep. To stay above water, you must try to act like nothing's wrong, but you know that the truth is catching up with you. You're not crazy, you're just a little unwell. But no doctor can help you now.

I'm glad to see you...I've been trying to get over to your journal for at least a week to say 'hello' (and say I was back). I'm a crappy friend. *sigh*
I almost jumped on your post I saw - I think - this morning about taxes and linens, but I had to go to the doctor today so my day was all chopped up. Hopefully, we'll be able to connect a little more from now on.
Oh, and Happy (very, very belated) Birthday. It wasn't my birthday - but I, also, treated myself to a permanent account. It was my way of making a committment to coming back to and staying around on) LJ. :)

Don't worry! I'm always playing catch up with LJ myself, so I understand how you feel when you're not keeping up. I was just about to go off to your journal and see what you've been up to too, and thank you for the meme.
As for those linens - Yee! I got a great bargain. After talking to Mum this morning, 2100 yen for a U.S cotton sheet (even a single) she says is very, very good value - at least compared to Australian prices. I'm going to get more today I think, before the sale ends.

Yes, I think it's a great idea to snag a perm. account. I just like the idea of never having to think about whether to keep it going. It will always be there, whether I use it or not and I don't have to bother with changing payment options, if it should turn out I needed to do that. It's also great value, as long as I use it for 5 years. *gg*

I can't believe I was gone for almost a year, though. I didn't even read at all on LJ. *sigh* I haven't touched base with too many on my flist yet, either. :( I need to do a lot more reaching out. Xanthe, for one. *nods* I really missed you all so much. I'm glad to move forward, now. :)

You are so right about the permanent account and the Iconage. More is *lurve* and I'm insatiable!
God, has it been a year? I can't believe it!
Xanthe hasn't been posting so much in the last year. *sigh* No fic, at least ... :-( although she (and I) are following Doctor Who.
