Mestuff

Well, I sent off my [livejournal.com profile] sga_art_santa stuff! Hope the recipient like it. *wibbles*

Normal day at work, ... I had a photo op I was late for -- only by 10 minutes, although that's a lifetime here! Naughty me! I'm usually very punctual. TPTB usually ask me to do this every year as a promotion for prospective students. But can I take this moment to complain about how incredibly hard it is to try and hold a fake laughing conversation with students who don't understand you, while the shutter is clicking away at you? It took forever to get a picture that had all four of us with eyes wide open. Hee!

News: Next year my mum will come to Japan for my big Five-0h! birthday. We're planning to go to Hakone or Fuji Go-ko ( Five Lakes) for an overnight, so we can see some panoramic views of Fujisan.

News2: As for work, so far, I have got another full day (4 classes) of confirmed work at a university in Nagoya next year. Yay! Finally, that Masters is going to start paying for itself. w00t! The only hard thing about it is that it's on a Tuesday, so that means rising at 5:00 am on both Monday and Tuesday (because both universities are a long commute away). OMG - can I do that? I dread waking up late for work! I'm quite excited about the afternoon classes because I'll be teaching computer using an English OS to 1st year English Majors. I was told the other teachers are reluctant to do it because they're a bit technophobic about computers, but I'm not, so it'll be a fun challenge.

Well, I was going to make icons for each of the 12 Days of Christmas but it takes too long to find good stock so I'll have to settle for a Partridge in a Pear Tree and Two Turtle Doves.

Gratuitous fact: Pigeons are relatives of doves and there are actually decorated war hero messenger pigeons who have been stuffed and mounted in war museums. So are they Rats of the Air, Heroes of War or Messengers of Peace? Seems like there's a lot of mixed messages there. I have always been ambivalent about them based on whether they lived in the city or country.
