Take on the Champagne Ball
Yes, it was a lovely night! Lots of fun! Especially the dancing, which was all "my era" type music - 70s and 80s mostly. The food was pretty average though. I'd have to say that the nosh at our college's yearly event every June was better, but still it was quite fabulous with everyone dressing up, which doesn't happen at the college dinner.
And I definitely wasn't the worst dressed, by any means, although I'm glad I didn't end up buying the $600 evening gown I had had my eye on. There were some people who hadn't really made an effort, (mostly the men) or hadn't had the time to, coming straight from work, so I'm glad I didn't spend all that dosh on one dress.
My friend S won "Leader of the Year" Yay! for him! and we got pics of, and with him, joshing him that he'd reached rock star status *g*
Y and I left early (11:30) but we ended up staying up to 3:00 anyway, just chatting and dissecting the evening at her place.
ETA: I'll send a pic via email to anyone interested.
