I think I am just writing this because I can ... I have the time! There is nothing momentous in this post - just yabbering on! *grins* I woke up this morning to a coverlet of snow to cool a hobbit's toes! Not common in Nagoya with so much concrete and the many cars to melt away snow.

There are even a few tiny flakes still falling.

I am really excited about the Christmas Day Doctor Who Special! I haz it precious, yeeeessssss! Is there anything else exciting on BBC for Christmas that I should know about? My Christmas Day )... Have a nice Boxing Day everyone!

It's Christmas morning here in Japan! I know it is still coming for many of you, but just thought I'd pop in with some good wishes for my flist! Have a lovely Christmas season for those who celebrate it! ♥ ♥ ♥

I am having a quiet but nice day. My Mum and brother are likely to skype me in a while, so we can chat. I made up a huge pot of soupy stew from the turkey carcass remains of the Student's Christmas party. It was the first time for me to carve a turkey, actually!

Also went into my local foreign foods shop and picked up my Christmas pudd (Walkers brand from Scotland). They specially got them in for me from the Shizuoka City store which is about a 100 km away since they had sold out in Nagoya earlier. I had gone in three nights ago to buy one they told me they had sold out. I put on a sad act/face and told them my Christmas would be very SAaaaaaaD! They even asked me if I wanted the small or large ... one or two? so of course I went for the large and ordered two! The shop people were wonderful! The guy I spoke to on Wednesday even recognised me when I walked in and he recalled my name instantly (I had an official order form with my name on it, so he knew it from that).
As for my pot of soup/stew ... yummy comfort food! I think I will be living on it for days, it is so huge!!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Christmas Eve was dinner with a friend and her friends, lots of beer, good old McCallan Whiskeys (12 and 18 years old), Veuve Clicquot and some more exotic drinks. Food wasn't all that great though. I'm surprisingly well today, considering what I drank (drank lots of water too) and what with having a cold, but I don't feel like cooking. Luckily, I don't have to! My real Christmas dinner will be tomorrow when I have some of my students (six 18 year old girls) visit. well, I have opened my pressies, and that was a nice little ritual, although much later in the day than usual. I got to bed after 3:00 am, so I didn't get up until late. Now I must get cracking and prepare for my friend L's visit. We are going to snack, and chat, maybe watch a movie. Have a lovely day, my dear f-listers!

It's a bit early, and I hope to post another card a bit closer to the Day, but just in case ... a very Merry Christmas/Solstice/(insert holiday of choice) to my lovely f-list, from the Boys!!

Greetings from Pegasus

Hey there f-list! I haven't posted in forever - or at least that's what it feels like. Work has been very busy, but I have been reading most of what's going on in your lives and keeping up with news, but not much commenting or fic reading, sad to say.

I have finished my [ profile] sga_art_santa piece *is nervous* I am pleased with it but am the first to admit I suck at the conceptual side of art work.

I put up my Christmas tree last night. I went with the red apples, red and gold balls and colourful tropical fish this year! The blinking fairy lights look so pretty! Unfortunately, my camera is on the blink, so no pic! I sent off my present to Mum - she wanted colourful plastic paper clips from Japan and I sent some retro machine magnets and other sundry stationery things, which she might like (I hope!).

I went to see the American comedy play "The Boys Next Door" on Sunday, which was quite good, although I felt like I couldn't laugh at their antics in the first act - a bit un-pc, but in the second half I felt like I "knew" them better and so could chuckle more honestly - in a kind of affectionate way. I think a lot of people felt the same. Other plays I have seen recently are The Vagina Monologues (wonderful! - a friend of mine from work played in it) and Romeo and Juliet. The latter was half in English (Romeo's side) and half in Japanese (Juliet's) set in the Meiji era, but I just didn't enjoy it all that much. Romeo was an unlikeable dork, whose diction was at times inarticulate and Juliet's head kept bobbing like one of those bobble dolls, which really distracted me. I liked seeing it In-the-Round though.
